Porsche has revealed the latest version of the 911 GT3 Cup – the first track car from Porsche based on the 991 911 – in Weissach. Porsche has built the new 911 GT3 Cup for its one-make racing series – the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup – and it comes with plenty of promise for more track success. The GT3 Cup gets a 3.8 litre flat six which delivers 460 horses to the back wheels through a six-speed dog-type ‘box operated by paddles on the steering wheel.
Design LA, the automotive design conference that incorporates the Design Challenge competition, has announced its winners, during this year's LA Motor Show. Chuck Pelly, who set up Design LA last year, introduced the event and the judges for the Design Challenge: Tom Matano , Director, Academy of Art University; Imre Molner, Dean, College of Creative Studies; Steward Reed, Chair, Transportation Design, Art Centre College of Design; and Bill Van Amburg, Senior Vice President, Calsart. The new second-generation Kia Soul crossover will make its European debut at next month’s 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, boasting increased practicality and improved efficiency over its predecessor. Based on the latest Kia Ceed hatchback platform, the new car goes on sale in the UK early in 2014, with prices expected to start around £13,000. The 2014 Kia Soul will be available with the firm’s latest 133hp 1.6-litre petrol and 126hp 1.6-litre turbodiesel engines.
